About Marissa Marchioni, OTD, OTR/L, LRC, CEAS
Occupational Therapist · Founder, True North OT · Former USC Faculty · ADHD, Mental Wellness, Lifestyle Redesign®
I'm an occupational therapist with over 20 years across clinical practice, academia, and wellness — and a deep belief that the gap between how healthcare works and how people actually live is where the most important work happens.
I spent eight years on faculty at USC, where I taught and practiced Lifestyle Redesign® — a programme built on the idea that meaningful daily activity is the foundation of mental health, not an afterthought. My clinical focus is ADHD, executive function, anxiety, insomnia, and chronic condition management — always grounded in what people actually do every day, not just what they report in a session.
I founded True North OT to bring that approach to telehealth — helping patients in California, Maine, Florida, and Georgia navigate mental health, ADHD, and insomnia through clinical lifestyle modification rather than purely pharmacological or talk-based approaches.
More recently, I've been collaborating with a UX design technologist to translate clinical assessment frameworks I developed in practice into AI-assisted consumer tools — home safety assessment for aging-in-place, pediatric environmental safety, sensory environment evaluation. The question driving the work: how do you turn a clinician's trained eye into something anyone can use — without losing the judgment that makes it worth trusting?
I'm published in OTJR, OT Practice, and the OT special interest section of the World Federation of Occupational Therapists. I hold a Doctor of Occupational Therapy from USC.
